Another weekend with the Inverse Paranoids

As I read my entry from last year I realized I could just change the dates and everything would be nearly the same.

I spent the weekend in a place called Silver Bay, NY the YMCA of the Adirondacks.  I was attending the annual conference on the Positive Power of Humor and Creativity put on by the Humor Project.

I’ve been attending this conference since 1990 as a volunteer and it’s something I look forward to every year.  This year about 300 people from around the world gathered to attend sessions on using humor and creativity in their daily lives.

I did find another interesting license plate...

Of course, there were other differences.

The power was out Saturday morning from 8AM to 11AM.  They said a transformer caught fire but I told people it was intentional.  This was a "creativity" conference after all!

I somehow got the nickname "dotcom" in one of the sessions.

We were asked to come up with what we wanted on our tombstone...I turned to my session partner and said..."I don't know what it would be but it will be funny...and then inspiration struck..."it would be a website!...something dotcom"

That brought a BIG laugh from my partner who called the instructor over to tell her.  She like it and asked for others...a lady said... "Taking A Long Nap" and I blurted out ".com!"

Well, in retrospect I guess it's not so hard to figure out how I got the nickname "dotcom"  🙂

This year I had my pic taken with a couple celebrities, detailed in my earlier posts.

It's cafeteria style eating so you sat wherever you could find a seat so I had lots of interesting conversations about debt and money during the weekend.  It's a universal concern and we all have our stories.

It's a year to year decision these days about having the conference every year so go to their website and get on their list for next year.  Humor Project.
