Attention!

This time of year I walk around town for my exercise.  I'm usually out pretty early and still in a daze.

Yesterday morning as I was walking up a hill, down the hill came a girl...maybe 11 or 12 years old riding a UNICYCLE!

I was immediately wide awake.  This was amazing...not only to be riding the unicycle but riding it DOWNHILL!  I've always wanted to learn how to ride one but have never been near one and a padded room at the same time.  I have no interest in skinning any knees or elbows.

The point is, she immediately had my attention by being DIFFERENT.  I can't recall the last time I've seen a unicyclist and it is an impressive skill.  It wasn't anything dramatic like fireworks just the fact she was on an unusual bike was enough to stand out.

Years ago I showed up for  the last day of the HUMOR CONFERENCE I annually attend, wearing a tuxedo.  I instantly stood out amongst the sea of painted faces, wacky wigs and assorted hats.   My name ever since then, for some of the volunteers, has been "TuxLeo".

Getting attention in this day and age is important if you want your message to be heard.

My friend Jim Kukral has written a whole book about it.  Called:

Attention!  This book will make you money.  How To Use Attention Getting Online Marketing To Increase Your Revenue

In the interest of full disclosure, Chapter 63 is devoted entirely to me...all three pages!  Laugh if you must but how many chapters in how many books are devoted to you??
If getting attention would help improve your business/income check it out.  It's really not hard to get attention but doing it in a fun and creative way can make all the difference.

When I was in Jr/Sr High school, there was a kid who always rode a unicycle. Never had to lock it up. . .who could steal it? To watch him was amazing as he could take it right off or over the road curb. And as being different is; everyone knew who he was.
